Remote Learning Info
We are aware that some children will need to stay at home over the next few months, due to general illness and those having to self-isolate. The following arrangements are in place to support families with their child’s learning at home, whilst the current situation continues.
1) For situations where a few children across the school are isolating (whilst waiting for the outcome of a test for themselves or a family member), we will:
regularly update year group planners identifying the learning that will be happening in school that week. The main focus of these activities will be phonics, reading, writing and maths. Those children who are well enough can complete these tasks in line with what they would be learning in school.
We will signpost useful websites to support learning across the curriculum.
Children may complete additional creative or discovery tasks related to the topic being covered that week.
2) Should we have to close a ‘bubble’, the teachers will
email out the learning each week, along with explanations and teaching points to explain each activity.
Be in regular contact with the children in their class to check progress and offer support where it is needed.
Make links to websites to support the specific learning that week.
3) Should the school be part of a localised lockdown:
learning will be set daily/weekly, using google classrooms; (details of which will be sent out to you in this event)
Teachers will maintain regular contact during the school day to offer support, advice and to stay in touch with your children.
Please be reassured, that we will provide a range of learning activities that do not rely solely on internet access as we are very aware of the limitations in some households. Should paper copies of learning be required, please let the school office know and we can organise this.
All of these resources can be accessed via the school website under the Remote Learning tab, then click on your child’s year group.
As the situation progresses, we may have to adapt this process but will of course inform you of any changes if required.
